Featured Artist interview: The NIGHTCHILD (E39)

About: The NIGHTCHILD from Donetsk, Ukraine

"The themes of songs are vampires, blood, undead, mystics. The musicians call their style as vampire gothic rock.
The band had good performances in Kiev, Moscow and Donetsk. Now the band consists of Nightchild A. who records new songs and looks for musicians for live performances."

1). Who was your hero in childhood? And what about now?
Nightchild A.: I don't remember much about childhood. May be someone from books, I really can't remember… Now I also can't name someone to be my hero.
Holy Cat: May be it's strange, but I didn't have any heroes in my childhood. Now is the same. I admire many people, there are doctors, scientists, artists among them, but they are not my heroes.

2). How much time do you spend sleeping?
N A.: Unfortunately not much as I want to. But I like to sleep and do it at vacations:)
H C: Ooh… I like to sleep, but unfortunately not every time I manage it. It's 7 hours on average, but on holidays – 10 hours.

3). What season of the year is the most similar to your music?
H C: Probably autumn associates with our music, late autumn with yellow leaves, crimson sunsets, cold dawns with trembling dew on withered grass, with dark moonless nights when the stars shine bright and it's felt in air that the night frost is near. This is death and the life eternal at the same time.
N A.: I completely agree with Holy Cat. It is definitely autumn!

4). Tell us the most impressive place you have ever been to?
N A.: In 1991 I was in Germany and visited the cathedral in Cologne. It was very impressive building! It towers above you and you admire it. Then we went by winding stairs to the top and saw almost whole town. I thought at that time “How many workers had died when this cathedral was built?!”
H C: Well, probably the most impressive place I've ever visited it's a coal mine. I was there on excursion. People work there, but the place is horrible!!! You feel like petty worthless little man when you think about the mass of the ground above you.

5). Tell us 3 favorite things to do and 3 things you hate to do.
N A.: I like to:
sit and play guitar, have sex, sleep
I hate to:
go at work, communicate with stupid people, be at the sun
H C: I like to:
do any work that requires creativity, cook, because I like tasty meals, be at nature, it can be forest, park, lake, river anything, but the most important thing is less people.
I hate to:
do any house work (such as cleaning, washing, ironing), wait in the cue and I hate to wait at all, tell the lie.
