Featured Artist interview: H-O-T (Hell On The Trax) (E43)

About: H-O-T (Hell On The Trax)

"H-O-T (Hell On Trax) is the 1st artist from the Money Green Camp to debut with his solo, alter ego album "H-O-T in the Streets/in the Sheets." The South Florida raised artist is also the head of the Money Green Camp, an independent label and entertainment group from South Florida. He holds titles such as producer, CEO, manager, and songwriter, just to name a few. As an artist, H-O-T approaches the industry with a "more than just a rapper" view and attitude. H-O-T can be best described as a modern day southern version of L.L. Cool J mixed with 50 Cent. Although he tells tales of growing up on the mean streets of South Florida, he also unleashes sensual, seductive, “sex music” as well."

1). Do you have a phobia? If yes - what?
Phobia? I have a non-productive phobia. Lol. But seriously, I cnt stand being or being around people who are non productive. I try 2 make evertday count for something wether it's small or big.

2). If you wouldn't have become an artist, what would you be?
If I wouldn't have become an artist? I wdv been strictly a producer. I've bn producing my own beats since I was in the 6th grade. At one point in time, I laid back on rapping and was producing for other local artist full time. But my love for self expression artistically thru lyrics couldn't be put aside for too long. I eventually got back into writing which brings me to where I am today. Hustling to take over in the rap game. I've always loved music, so no matter what happens(rapper or not) music is going to be a part of my life one way or another.

3). What is your "formula for success"?
Success Formula? I think that there are 5 keys that are vital to success in anything you do. Dedication, patience, hunger, networking, and skills.
1: you have to be dedicated to what you want to do. 2: you have to have patience to stick to what u want to do no matter how long it may take. Never give up on yourself. 3: you have to not be hungry, but be starving for it. You have to look at success as that zebra in the wild and you have to be that lion that hasn't eatn in years. So no matter what you're not going to let that zebra get away from you. 4: networking. In todays world I've realized that who you know is as important, if not more important, than what you know. Try to attend as many meet and greet, socializing, network get together's as possible. You might meet someone that's looking to invest in someone like you, or someone that knows someone that's willing to help you out or work with you. My main focus whenever I go out is meet atleast one person that I can benefit from knowing. 5: last but not least you have to be skilled in what you're trying to do. Study, practice, and perform @ your best at all times. Study the successful people that did it before you. I like to study their road to success. I also like to study their downfalls and what made them lose their success. That way I'll also knw what not to do in order to maintain my success.

4). If you had a chance to perform a live concert in any of these 3 countries: India, Congo, Iraq - what would it be and why?
I'd perform in Iraq if I could. Reason? I've bn there as a United States Marine and I know that our troops are still out there. So I would like to perform for the troops and try to give a small motivation speech to help boost their morale while they were over there. I know how it is, and I knnow how you feel when your life is in constant danger and 3rd world living conditions along with being in the military can cause one to be kind of down and stressed. So I'd like to go there toperform for them and give them something to take their mind off stress for a few minutes.

5). If you started a social networking project/website, what would you call it?
Social/networking website? I'd name it MGC(Meet Greet n Create) a site where you can connect with other people in the industry or that's trying to be in the industry. And you can either get together for business and create music together, or you can get together on a personal level and create chemistry between you. Since you'll meet other people in the same field you two can better understand each other and share some of the same passions.
