About: Solitude Within from Buenos Aires
1).How would you spend a million dollars if you had it?
I would probably save most of it, but spend a bit of it travelling around the world and writing texts and music on the road, inspired by landscapes, people, etc...and I probably couldn't resist getting some more music gear as well.
2).What was the craziest thing to happen in your life?
A life is full of small and little surprises and crazyness in all forms, so there would be countless things to mention. But talking about recent events, I'd say that moving from the Netherlands to Buenos Aires, the awe-inspiring experience of seeing a sunrise at a 6088m, hiking alone through Patagonian Andes, and doing an Ayahuasca-ceremony in Peru have all been really intense and interesting experiences, all of them inspiring a lot of new music. That Ayahuasca ceremony especially was an intensely musical experience for me, but I think in general a great deal of the album I'm working on right now (The Solitary Tree) is inspired by travelling through Southern Argentina.
3).What kind of message is in your music? Why or for what reason do you write music?
I don't try to get a specific message across really - I think of my music, especially some of the more ambient pieces, as soundtracks to images and moods that one has to imagine for oneself. That how I write the songs, and I just hope they inspire people to see, feel and imagine their own things.
4).What would you do if the world was going to end in 3 hours?
Get a good wine, go to the top of the building, and see it all happen. That is, taking my favourite guitar of course and orchestrating the whole thing with some sad and happy notes...
5).If you were a professional sportsman, what sport would you play?
I guess I would go with being a marathon-runner or a climber, since those are some of the few things, together with music, that completely allow me to take a step back from the world, blank out the mind, and be at peace.
Or maybe I should just go with some sport that doesn't take much time practicing, but still earns you some decent money while allowing you to travel the world and spend time doing other stuff, such as writing music- suggestions anyone?
