Featured Artist interview: Askalfie (E67)

About: Askalfie from Birmingham ,UK

"There is something very cheeky about Ask Alfie.
He's borrowing a bunch of musical juice from a range of genres riding high in the charts right now, with a smirk and a smile - knowing damn well Joe Public won't be able to resist the resulting concoction.
From the perky Jamie-T-esque Karaoke, with the additional electro beats and an indie vibe to the Coldplay - meets -Plan B ballard Awkward Love - Ask Alfie has absolutely nailed the musical tastes of 2011, ticking all the right boxes and tipping his hat to all the right people.
The patchwork of styles and tastes works perfectly - never sounding thrown together or messy, and he deftly overlays one sound with something equally exciting.
With The Streets bowing out in style earlier this year, there is a vast Mike Skinner - shaped hole in music right now, it'd be great to see Ask Alfie fill those shoes."
