Featured Artist interview: Benni Boom (E64)

About: Benni Boom from Santa Rosa, USA

"Benni Boom started writing and recording songs at the age of 13. He was givin a 4-track recorder by his father. He enjoyed rapping with his friends for fun at parties. At the age of 15, he began straying from the music life, being intrigued by the life of crime.
By the age of 18, when most are looking at 4 years in college, Benni was looking at 4 years in the State Penn. Beating the case, and only getting 10 months, when he was released he decided he needed a change of scenery, and he moved to the Southern California area.
Benni met a producer by the name of Joey Youngman, and learned how to make beats using different equipment. He also started formulating and writing raps to go with the beats, and found out that he was good at it.
Being deeply connected, it was easy for Benni to establish himself. He started an operation, in LA that went on for over 3 years, and drove the local law enforcement crazy trying to catch him. After coming close to death in a situation, Benni decided to head home up North, and reconnect to his roots.
A very talented individual, when it comes to music, it was just never a reality to him. Then, in 2009 he linked up with a group of artists from the San Francisco area, and began recording in a proffessional studio. They heard his sound and knew it was something special. They gave him the confidence he needed to try and take a shot at the title"
