Featured Artist interview: Our Future Leaders (E68)

About: Our Future Leaders from Orlando, USA

"An original rock band from Orlando, Florida utilizing as many styles as possible, and they're not afraid to change it up. Formed in 2005, Our Future Leaders has begun to make themselves known in the local music scene of Central Florida with catchy songs, high energy, and insane guitar riffs.
"The talent of this band is something to watch... I’m happy that there are bands going in the energy direction like Our Future Leaders." - Stephen Bray"

1). What musical instrument is the wildest/most fun to play on (from your point of view)?
Electric guitar is definitely my favorite, though I'm really looking forward to trying out a Theremin..that looks like a lot of fun and really weird.

2). What has been the biggest challenge in your life?
My biggest challenge has been managing this band. I've put everything together pretty much on my own from the beginning from setting up rehearsals, booking, promotion, recording and I've learned a lot along the way through trial and error. We seemed to have found our pace now, we're putting the finishing touches on our first album which will be releasing very soon and things are going well for us....hard work pays off.

3). What song you can listen to again and again?
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, the harmonies are some of the most complex and pristine of any rock song and it's incredibly dynamic. The song definitely goes all through the rock spectrum with a soft melodic beginning focusing on piano and then ends in a massive rock anthem which always makes me reenact the scene from Wayne's World where they start head banging...I just can't help myself.

4). What is your favorite feature on R&R?
I always appreciate when there's a site wide music player with new music, that's probably my favorite.

5). If you could ask one question to the leader of your country, what would it be?
I would ask President Barack Obama why we allow tax loopholes for corporations like oil companies when the country is apparently in massive debt and they're making record profits.
