From The Ashes: unsigned hard\blues rock quartet from London, UK (E109)

About: From The Ashes

From The Ashes: unsigned hard\blues rock quartet from London, UK played in E109 of the ArenaCast

They rose from the ashes of their former projects to play a fiery blend of heavy/blues rock with the elements of the southern and stoner rock. The entire discography of the "From The Ashes" is presented on iTunes, and it's a really high-quality, original and cool stuff.

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as an artist?
To be signed and touring ideally. There's a lot of discussion at the moment about how important record labels will be in the future. I'm not convinced that they'll be needed to record all material, but the distribution networks they have are still very important. I'd like us to be able to sustain ourselves through the music we play, and not have to worry about other jobs on the size. A modest goal in some respects, but its a good place to start!

2. Can you name some peculiarities that define the music scene in your town/country?
The scene in London is great, very diverse. Possibly too diverse as there are so many different scenes its hard to know where to go to build your following.

3. What do you think of episode 109? Which of the other featured songs do you like the most?
Good episode, the presenter seems a top bloke! And really enjoyed 'Fateful's change up in their tune. Good dynamic shifts going on there boys, top stuff!

4. Is there a story behind your song "Slipshod Blues"?
The whole song came out of a 3 hour jam session. We just started playing and the song structure and riffs came together. One of those rare beasts where no one came with any pre-written parts. The whole thing just evolved naturally. And I love it when that happens!!

5. Please share your nearest plans. What are you currently working on?
Aside from world domination? We've just played the 100 club in London, a venue where the history of the performers is essentially a who's who of the musical Zeitgeist of the 20th and 21st centuries. So to get to be a part of that was something immense. We have a new single recorded and we're trying to organise the release of that. There's the possibility of a music video later this year. So stay tuned...
