Revival: melodic metal quartet from Manchester, UK (E109)

About: Revival

Revival: melodic metal quartet from Manchester, UK played in E109 of the ArenaCast

"...The Band name came as a spur of the moment thing, we were under a few previous band names but at the time previous members weren't as devoted as we were, so that band was disbanded, then a few months later the 3 who stayed devoted to the band decided to try again, so the name Revival came from simply a "Revival" of the old band...Simple but effective."

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as an artist?
In 5 years we are hoping to be signed, have an album or 2 out and a very strong fan-base across the world and hopefully be touring with some big names. Our main goal is to keep creating the music we love to make.
Next main goal is making sure we're still around in 5 years!

2. Can you name some peculiarities that define the music scene in your town/country?
In Manchester, almost the entire unsigned scene is split between Metal and Indie Bands. Anything other than those genres is seen as quite a surprise. We have played alongside a lot of these bands over the past couple of years (more so Metal acts) and we can say the Unsigned Scene is very strong at the minute. There are currently some truly awesome bands around the area and we all support each other. It's a very friendly scene at this time.

3. What do you think of episode 109? Which of the other featured songs do you like the most?
We think 109 is one of the best casts we've heard to date. The songs are very enjoyable and is much more to our listening tastes. Our favourites from this cast are the songs from Fateful and Vanity Strikes, both very powerful and enjoyable songs to listen to.

4. Is there a story behind your song "Gone Insane"?
The song Gone Insane started off as just a riff (the catchy, main riff) that lead guitarist James had wrote about 5 years ago but we'd never put it into use until a couple of years ago, the opening drumbeat was an idea that was come up in a practice and they both just seemed to fit together perfectly, the rest of the song fitted in over the following week, and lyrics followed soon after that.

5. Please share your nearest plans. What are you currently working on?
Our main focus is now recording the final songs for and then soon after releasing 'The Darkest Days EP', that'll take us from now, through recording in August, designing and printing through September, then preparing a release party for mid-October.
After that, we'll just see where the release leaves us, most likely, it'll be back to writing, this time for our first Full Length!
