The reviews are written by The ArenaCast host Damien V.! Read, enjoy and don't forget to spread the word!

Dirty Vibes: unsigned blues/rock quintet from Medway, UK (E111)

About: Dirty Vibes

Dirty Vibes: unsigned blues\rock quintet from Medway, UK. played in E111 of the ArenaCast

"We came up with a handful of absolutely rubbish band names before "Dirty Vibes." "Black Habit" was actually a band name consideration at one time. One night, our bass player, Bill, suggested "Bad Vibes", the name of one of his previous bands/projects and I said, "what about Dirty Vibes?" The rest is history!"

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
I can't speak for the others, but for me it's just about having fun and having a good time! You have to enjoy the journey as well as the destination, and I think everyone in the band just wants to play a big-ass stadium!

The Bambi Killers: punk rock band from Swansea, UK (E111)

About: The Bambi Killers

The Bambi Killers: punk rock band from Swansea, UK played in E111 of the ArenaCast

"We've played gigs to no-one, played some gigs to a hundred or so people.
A memorable one was Muppet having a woman throw a bra at him at the beginning of a song. She then sheepishly crawled on stage mid-song and said "my boyfriend would kill me if i went home without my bra!!" Has that ever happened to Tom Jones???"

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
In 5 years time we'd like everyone on planet Earth know who The Bambi Killers are. A gig on the Moon would be cool. Failing that, a headline appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.

Wasteland: unsigned hard rock band from Nottingham, UK (E111)

About: Wasteland

Wasteland: unsigned hard rock band from Nottingham, UK played in E111 of the ArenaCast

"We came up with the band name after hours of trying to come up with one and eventually felt like giving up when Josh said "Let's just call us Wasteland". As kind of a 'that'll do' kind of attitude it was agreed upon by Matt and then the name stuck. Although the name did begin to grow on all members... "

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
In 5 years, it's hard to say where we'll be because it depends on a lot of things like whether people buy our material, come to our gigs, share with their friends etc. Also money is a huge factor as well, every band needs money to record, promote and produce merchandise. If you don't have any money like us then it becomes really difficult. But we have our dreams like most bands and it would be nice to be playing in arenas, even if it's just as a support act. We'd also like to be signed to a record label.

The Restitution: ambient metal duo from Portland, Oregon (E111)

About: The Restitution

The Restitution: ambient metal duo from Portland, Oregon. played in E111 of the ArenaCast

"This project has gone through a few different names, and when I was tired of the last one, The Restitution just popped into my head. I pulled it up in the dictionary and thought it fit well"

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
In five years, we hope to be consistently touring, have a couple albums out, and the works, and not have to have a "real job." For the most part, it's a pretty typical outlook. One of us is 27, and while that's not exceptionally old by any standard, five extra years (32) is pretty old to not have some sort of a foot hold in life, and working in a warehouse for 30 years isn't particularly attractive for him.
We've got a couple main goals, actually. First and foremost, we just want to make the best music we can. It'd be awesome to end up doing something groundbreaking and unique someday, and to actually inspire people to do the same; I think the only way that's possible is to just do what you love and do it as best you can. We also want to influence and inspire people in a non-musical way. Being in the spotlight automatically gives you power, for better or for worse, and there's a lot of terrible role models out there. Kids in particular are really malleable, and I wish celebrities in general would understand and respect that, and that whether they want it to or not, their behavior will affect how many of these kids will act. This doesn't mean we're going to go straight-edge or end up like The Wiggles, though.

Sleeper Effect: alternative rock/metal quartet from London, UK (E111)

About: Sleeper Effect

Sleeper Effect: unsigned alternative metal\rock quartet from London played in E111 of the ArenaCast

"The sleeper effect is a psychological phenomenon whereby a highly persuasive message, paired with a discounting cue, causes an individual to be more persuaded by the message".

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
Wow, 5 years is a long time. We’re certainly not looking that far in the future. Our aim is play live. That’s where we’re most comfortable and love playing to a receptive audience who are behind us. We’re constantly writing and recording and hope to release our first album next year, 2013.

Vanity Strikes: alternative metal band from Rochester NY, US (E109)

About: Vanity Strikes

Vanity Strikes: alternative metal band from Rochester NY, US in E109 of the ArenaCast

"Our band name was chosen by our guitarist Kevin Murphy. Throughout our school years, he realized how vain everyone was, how everyone wanted to be perfect looking, popular and to be better then everyone else. We all were considered "Outcasts" in our younger years, so kevin came up with the name "Vanity Strikes".

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
We see ourselves with multiple albums out and headlining national and international tours! We will hopefully be on a major label and getting our name out there for everyone to hear!

The Maybes - a three piece indie rock band from Glasgow, Scotland (E110)

About: The Maybes

The Maybes are from Glasgow, Scotland. They formed in 2010 as a duo with guitar and vocals and recently added a drummer and a bassist. Currenlty the band is working on their next demo single "September Weekend".

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
A little older certianly, I would hope to still be writing and recording songs as I have been for quite a long time already but time passes so quickly and we really get so little of it. It also makes me think of the Bowie song " Five Years" as well, I love the drums intro on that track. Goals as an artist would be to continually develop and improve without being predictable if thats possible and I hope we are achieving that so far, I would certianly hope that in another 5 years I would have access to some resources to do more as currently everything has been home recorded demos, which are great for getting ideas but can limit the scope of what you are doing. We are trying to put actual drums onto our next demo and are rehearsing with our new drummer Reuben which has been great so we will have to use a studio this time.

Balthazar B and the Beatitudes - Blues/Rock/Indie band from Paris (E110)

About: Balthazar B and the Beatitudes

'Imagine sitting cross-legged in a cosy folk kitchen, flanked by two delicious and freshly baked pies. On the left sits a hearty steaming rock 'n' roll pie, while on the right sits a golden sweet pop pie. Your hands are thrust deeply into each of their juicy centres, and you have a beaming smile on your face. That’s what listening to our music is like'.

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
As a band we live in different countries and we all have full time jobs so we're not a conventional band but we're close childhood friends and we will always be so. In 5 years time I imagine we'll still be getting together when we can to play songs - our main goal as a band is to enjoy ourselves and if anyone else enjoys our music that's all the better.

World Vs. World: alternative rock trio from South Wales, UK (E109)

About: World Vs. World

World Vs. World: alternative rock trio from South Wales, UK played in E109 of the ArenaCast

"...When it came time to form what we now know as World Vs. World in early 2007, Kirk proposed the name Straw Dogs, which the band went with as a starting name to begin with, but after Damian doing a little research on the internet, he found that the name Straw Dogs was well worn by thousands across the world. So he proposed the band change their name to World Vs. World, as it sounds very relevant to virtually everyone on a personal and social, worldly level, whether they can figure out why or not. Kirk grudgingly adopted the name change but over the years, we've learned that no other name would be right for our sound or attitude! World Vs. World is here to stay!"

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as an artist?
We are in this band for the longterm but we also take each day/wee/month/year as it comes. We believe we will still be together, with the same line up...hopefully in a more economically stable and comfortable situation than currently!!!
