About: Sleeper Effect
"The sleeper effect is a psychological phenomenon whereby a highly persuasive message, paired with a discounting cue, causes an individual to be more persuaded by the message".
1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
Wow, 5 years is a long time. We’re certainly not looking that far in the future. Our aim is play live. That’s where we’re most comfortable and love playing to a receptive audience who are behind us. We’re constantly writing and recording and hope to release our first album next year, 2013.
2. Can you name some peculiarities that define the music scene in your town/country?
Our home town London is a clusterfuck of bands and venues. It’s a really good thing but it can also be quite detrimental to good original bands who struggle to get the space and time to show off their skills. There’s also not a lot of quality honest promoters.
3. What do you think of episode 111? Which of the other featured songs do you like the most?
Episode 111 is one of the best yet. R&R are really growing and there’s a lot of great bands showcasing their sounds. If we had to single out one particular band it would have to be The Restitution their sound is so dark. Also Phoenix Club have a very current sound. Their parents must be proud.
4. Is there a story behind your song "Hero Clone"?
Our track Hero Clone has a central story to the lyrics highlighting the use of lives in war. Especially those young service men and women on the front line. Our singer directed the music film for Hero Clone featuring a British soldier returning from war. Check it out.
5. Please share your nearest plans. What are you currently working on?
We are currently in the studio recording demos for our first album and are also booking an small UK tour during October – November. Check our Facebook page for more details.
