About: Vanity Strikes

Vanity Strikes: alternative metal band from Rochester NY, US in E109 of the ArenaCast

"Our band name was chosen by our guitarist Kevin Murphy. Throughout our school years, he realized how vain everyone was, how everyone wanted to be perfect looking, popular and to be better then everyone else. We all were considered "Outcasts" in our younger years, so kevin came up with the name "Vanity Strikes".

1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
We see ourselves with multiple albums out and headlining national and international tours! We will hopefully be on a major label and getting our name out there for everyone to hear!

2. Can you name some peculiarities that define the music scene in your town/country?
The music scene in our town of Rochester, NY is primairly HARDCORE music. That is why we do so well, its because we stand out and break the norm while still having the heavy included in our music. Its something different around here!

3. What do you think of episode 109? Which of the other featured songs do you like the most?
We are really digging the From the Ashes song! Its pretty kickin!

4. Is there a story behind your song "In The End (Ft. Amanda Horowitz)"?
In the End was actually written over 3 years ago, But we came back to it for our new album because it gave us a different tone and it gave us the chance to use Amanda in the album, who has an amazing voice!

5. Please share your nearest plans. What are you currently working on?
Right now, TOUR, TOUR, TOUR. We need to tour to get our name out there! We have also been contacted by a major label here in the US, But we cant say who :)
