About: Sound Of The Sirens
"Abbe and Lisa, friends from school, met Hannah when they were all working in a nightclub. They found they could harmonise together when walking/staggering home from the nightclub after working/drinking. Hannah was in a functions band at the time and Lisa, then Abbe joined the band. After a year or so of doing that, they decided they wanted to move away from playing predictable covers at weddings to covering songs they liked (and putting their own twist on them) and writing their own material. They have played pub gigs with Ed Sheeran (just before he broke into the mainstream) and Billy Bragg and have done about 150 gigs in the last 2 1/2 years"
1. How do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your main goal as a band?
In 5 years we will be early 30’s still writing, still pretending we are 18 and of course we will still be writing and singing and hoping for more!!! Our main goal as a band is for this to always to be fun and not a chore... with perhaps a little number 1 single chucked in .
2. Can you name some peculiarities that define the music scene in your town/country?
We see ourselves in a Folk Rock Pop genre and as Folk has made a huge comeback recently we get away with being our uncool selves!!! In our local area there seems to be a big shortage of Female bands and so we get to fill that gap!!
3. What do you think of episode 112? Which of the other featured songs do you like the most?
It’s a great way for Artists to showcase their Music in the Undergound music scene and we support anything like this. We really enjoyed the The Arcadeans... go Ireland!!!!
4. Is there a story behind your song "Faith in Fire"?
We didn’t start out with a story but as we put lyrics together one emerged and we followed this. It’s the only song we have that isn’t so accidental and actually does have a strong visual element. We’d love to make a Music video for this. We are really happy that people like this song and that people connect to it.
5. Please share your nearest plans. What are you currently working on?
We are always writing new Music and have plans to record our next EP this Autumn. So watch this space
